Wildlife Awareness Month (WAM) – October in the Macedon Ranges
Every October, Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network (MRWN) runs Wildlife Awareness Month (WAM) — a celebration of our unique local wildlife and the volunteers who dedicate their time to rescue, care, and advocacy.
October is Wildlife Awareness Month (WAM), proudly run by the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network (MRWN).
Our presence at the markets is MRWN’s main fundraising event of the year, so please come along and support us in any way you can — or simply stop by to say hello and meet our team of dedicated volunteers. Meet your local wildlife rescuers and carers, learn about what we do, and discover:
- How to pouch-check roadside victims
- Tips for creating wildlife-friendly gardens
- How wildlife-friendly fencing can make a difference
- How to plant and care for native tube stock
- Take home educational materials, native plants & pouch check kits
It’s also a great way to entertain the kids and introduce them to an appreciation of our native animals.
Come and see our updated branding and learn how you can get involved — you don’t have to be hands-on with animals to make a difference!
And remember: donations are now tax deductible.
These events are proudly supported by Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey
